Następnej nocy, gdy Eloise się budzi, Aarona już z nią nie ma. Znajduje go w holu, a on zaprasza ją do wzięcia udziału w naradzie dotyczącej mordercy, którego ofiarami zostały już trzy osoby. Ethan, Ivan i Beliath chcą zapolować na mordercę, a Aaron, Raphael i Vladimir są zdania, by poczekać na dalszy rozwój wydarzeń. Głos Eloise nie zostaje zabrany pod uwagę. Po pozostawieniu wampirów w salonie bohaterka udaje się do biblioteki, gdzie wpada na Farah. Kobieta czekała tam na Aarona, z którym chciała porozmawiać.
