Eloise budzi się na kanapie z zabandażowaną raną na nadgarstku. Siedzi przy niej Vladimir, który zaopiekował się nią po ostatnich wydarzeniach. Wampir wydaje się bardziej wyrozumiały i delikatny w stosunku do dziewczyny, niż okazywał to do tej pory. Wracając do pokoju Eloise, wpada na Aarona, który informuje ją o przyjęciu. Bohaterka jest zła, że Beliath postanowił zorganizować imprezę w jej rezydencji bez pozwolenia. Udaje się z nim porozmawiać i wyjaśnia, że jest właścicielką dworu. Nie ma jednak nic przeciwko organizacji przyjęcia. Eloise odczuwa chęć przypodobania się Vladimirowi, więc wkłada piękną sukienkę, którą podarowali jej przyjaciele z sierocińca z okazji jej osiemnastki. Podczas imprezy nieznajomy, który przedstawia się jako Karl, chce zatańczyć z Eloise, co nie podoba się Vladimirowi. Dziewczyna jednak odmawia mu i tańczy ze swoim wampirem. Kiedy bohaterka zauważa, że inne wampiry piją krew gości, zaczyna panikować. Vladimir tłumaczy jej, że wszystko jest pod kontrolą, ale ona jest zła na to, w jaki sposób traktują tych ludzi. Zostawia Vlada samego i udaje się do nieznanego jej jeszcze pomieszczenia. Wampir przybiega niedługo po niej i zaczyna awanturować się o drzwi. Kłótnię przerywa im przeraźliwy krzyk kobiety, która okazuje się martwa. Goście zostają odesłani do domu, Ethan i Beliath zajmują się zwłokami, a Vladimir odprowadza Eloise do jej pokoju. Następnie prosi ją, żeby nie otwierała nikomu, oprócz jemu i odchodzi.
Nie wiem, ale wydaje się być ciekawa. Zbyt ciekawa.
