Vladimir stawia ultimatum, którym jest wybór pomiędzy nim a Eloise. Vladimir z ciężkim sercem wyjawia sekret stojący za spiżarnią. Okazuje się, że morderca, na którego polują, najprawdopodobniej zabił w tym miejscu rodziców Eloise. Vladimir znalazł ich martwe ciała krótko po ich śmierci. Nie chciał wcześniej tego wyjaśniać, gdyż obawiał się, jak ta zareaguje. Morderca wkracza do posiadłości. Ivan z Raphaelem sprawdzają wejścia. Raphael pojawia się w pokoju różanym, by zdać raport Vladimirowi i Eloise. Podczas ich rozmowy Eloise wyczuwa, że ktoś nadchodzi. Otwierają się drzwi rezydencji. Uciekają, wyczuwając niebezpieczeństwo; mają jednak nadzieję, że to może być któryś z chłopców: Beliath, Ethan lub Aaron. Raphael wyczuwa trzy osoby, ale to nie oni. Morderca, śmiejąc się, przygniata czyjeś ciało. Nie mają pewności, kto jeszcze tam jest.
Wpatrywałam się w jego twarz, nie mogąc się opanować. Poprzednia noc ciągle krążyła w mojej głowie. Ukojenie w środku burzy.
